“La polemica sulle 16 ore e sul ridimensionamento della continuità assistenziale della guardia medica è una bufala”. Così Giacomo Milillo a margine della presentazione della campagna 'In vitro veritas' di Assobiomedica.
“I motivi sono semplici: la legge Balduzzi prevede le 24 ore di copertura e la legge non può essere modificata dai contratti. Le sedici ore sono una possibilità organizzativa che consente di modulare il carico di assistenza, cioè i medici addetti all'assistenza tra il giorno e la notte in modo da privilegiare l'assistenza diurna, fino a mezzanotte, in funzione delle malattie croniche e della continuità assistenziale” spiega Milillo. “Questo non significa che verrà cancellata la guardia medica dalle 24 alle 8 del mattino - aggiunge - a meno che non si sia in situazioni in cui è così evidente che dalle ventiquattro alle otto non ci siano chiamate di guardia medica ma solo di codici verdi, gialli e rossi per cui a quel punto non ha senso che resti. E comunque in quelle zone in cui ci sono poche chiamate se prima c'erano due medici di guardia medica di notte e nessuno di giorno, se ne metterà uno di giorno e uno di notte” . “È un atto di indirizzo - conclude - la nostra posizione è quella della flessibilità, non compromette l'occupazione della continuità assistenziale perché il monte orario aumenterà, perché verrà riportato a quello del 2010, e quindi non ci sarà spazio per il ridimensionamento della pianta organica, che anzi potrebbe essere in qualche modo recuperata”.
