Silvestro Scotti: Siamo già in ritardo
«Il vaccino rischia di diventare quello che sono state le mascherine e i guanti» a inizio epidemia, spiega senza mezzi termini Silvestro Scotti, intervistato dal quotidiano Il Resto del Carlino sulla vaccinazione antinfluenzale. «Sono stato il primo a dirlo. Era il 5 aprile e ho sollecitato tutte le Regioni a fare le gare per aggiudicarsi le dosi di vaccino, alcune si sono messe avanti, come ad esempio Lazio, Campania e Puglia, altre sono rimaste indietro, come la Lombardia che ha provveduto solo a giugno, e altre ancora forse dovranno essere coperte dalle eccedenze delle altre Regioni. È importante avere un monitoraggio per sapere quante sono le quote vaccinali che arrivano nel paese, il numero di dosi vaccinali». Il rischio è, appunto, che anche un cittadino in buona salute che si è sempre vaccinato abbia difficoltà a farlo perché mancano le dosi da acquistare in farmacia (da farsi poi iniettare dal medico di base). A complicare la situazione c'è il fattore tempo. Secondo i medici di famiglia nessuna regione avrà concretamente a disposizione i vaccini «se non dalla terza settimana di ottobre». «È tardi, bisogna anticipare tutto a fine settembre», osserva Scotti, perché in tempi di Coronavirus la vaccinazione anti-influenzale non sarà più come prima. Da dimenticare le sedute di vaccinazioni con trenta, quaranta pazienti per volta - basti pensare, dati della Fimmg, che su 10 milioni di vaccinazioni in Italia 6-7mila sono fatte dai medici di famiglia -, si dovranno osservare le distanze e i divieti di assembramento. Certo è, spiegano gli epidemiologi, che la produzione di vaccini non può essere aumentata di tanto in poco tempo. Non sarà possibile quindi espandere all'infinito il numero di dosi in circolazione.
