Terza dose Pfizer a over 18 almeno dopo 6 mesi
Nelle sue raccomandazioni, l'Agenzia europea per i medicinali (Ema) ha autorizzato la terza dose del vaccino contro il Covid-19 (Pfizer-BioNTech e Moderna) 28 giorni dopo la seconda dose per gli adulti immunodepressi. Ha autorizzato, inoltre, il vaccino Pfizer-BioNTech per tutti gli over-18 almeno sei mesi dopo la seconda dose.
"È importante distinguere tra la dose extra per le persone con un sistema immunitario indebolito e le dosi di richiamo per le persone con un sistema immunitario normale. Per quest'ultimi, il Chmp ha valutato i dati per Comirnaty (il vaccino di Pfizer) che mostrano un aumento dei livelli anticorpali quando viene somministrata una dose di richiamo circa 6 mesi dopo la seconda dose in persone di età compresa tra 18 e 55 anni", spiega l'Ema in una nota. "Sulla base di questi dati, il comitato ha concluso che le dosi di richiamo possono essere prese in considerazione almeno 6 mesi dopo la seconda dose per le persone di età pari o superiore a 18 anni", afferma l'Agenzia.
